15.1 mi Out-and-back 292 ft gain

The Lebanon Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) is a National Recreation Trail. The rail trail goes from the southwestern border of Lebanon County and goes through Colebrook, Mt. Gretna, Cornwall, and the city of Lebanon. At the southern border of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania the LVRT connects with the Conewago Recreation Trail and continues for another 5.0 miles (8.0 km). The trail is partly built on the old Cornwall–Lebanon Railroad created by industrialist Robert H. Coleman in the 1880s.

Thunderstorms in the forecast — lightning and cyclists are a bad combination.

  • Thunderstorms — lightning and cyclists do not mix — get off the road before they arrive.
  • Pavement: wet — wet during the likely ride window — reduced braking, road spray, limited visibility to drivers.
  • 64°F air — right in road cycling's sweet spot
  • 17 mph wind — noticeable — pacing will shift with the wind.
